SOME HELP GETTING YOUR PICTURES READY!

Some of my boxes of pictures
Getting them organized
When I talk to people about scrapbooking, one of the most popular responses about why they don't do it is that their pictures are thrown in boxes, or they're not sure what to do to get them organized .  I always have the same response - YOU CAN DO IT!   To get started, start small.  Set aside a 1/2 hour to an hour at a time and dive in.  Pull those pictures out and try to arrange them in piles according to what you would like to do with them.  You can put them in piles according to year, each child, vacations, different holidays, etc.  I divide mine by year and then by month.  Cues from the picture like holidays, what everyone is wearing, seasons, etc., are a good help in determining the time of year.  Use an index card as a divider.  Write on the index card, the month, the year, event, and any other important information.  This will be helpful later when you're ready to start making scrapbook pages.

If you have pictures saved on your computer or memory cards, I would suggest setting up an account to Snapfish or Shutterfly.  You can upload your pictures to their web site, and get them printed cheaply.  They do a great job, and you can always use a coupon.  They will ship them right to your door.  You can organize them as they come in the mail.

Good luck getting started and I hope my suggestions motivate you to get started!

Come back soon for more.
